Material selection: Choose high carbon steel, alloy steel (such as GCr15, SUJ2) or stainless steel,
Pretreatment: Forge or roll the steel to eliminate internal defects, and improve cutting processability through annealing.
Shaping: Use a milling machine or planer to preliminarily process the reference surface, grooves and mounting holes of the guide rail, leaving a fine processing allowance.
Stress relief annealing: Eliminate the internal stress generated by rough processing to prevent subsequent deformation.
Quenching and tempering: Improve the surface hardness of the guide rail (usually up to HRC58-62) and enhance wear resistance; tempering reduces brittleness.
Cryogenic treatment: Further stabilize the organization, reduce residual austenite, and improve dimensional stability.
Precision grinding: Use CNC surface grinders and guide rail grinders to process the reference surface and raceway of the guide rail to ensure straightness (usually ≤3μm/m), parallelism and surface roughness (Ra≤0.4μm).
Use coordinate grinders to process precision holes.
Superfinishing: Reduce the surface roughness of the raceway (Ra≤0.1μm) by polishing or superfinishing to reduce friction.
Plating or coating: such as hard chrome plating (thickness 5-10μm) or nitriding treatment to enhance wear resistance and rust resistance.
Anti-corrosion treatment: Blacken, phosphate or spray a protective layer on the non-working surface.
Slider processing: Precision milling and grinding the inner cavity of the slider to ensure the matching accuracy with the guide rail.
Rolling element preparation: Steel balls or rollers must be ground and graded, with a diameter tolerance of ≤0.5μm to ensure smooth movement.
Pre-assembly: Temporarily assemble the slider and the guide rail to detect sliding resistance and smoothness.
Clearance adjustment: Control the gap (micrometer level) between the guide rail and the slider by adjusting the preload (such as interference fit or spring structure).
Lubrication system integration: Add grease or install an automatic lubrication device.
Geometric accuracy detection: Use laser interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to detect straightness, parallelism, verticality, etc.
Profilometer analyzes the shape accuracy of the raceway.
Load test: Verify the deformation under the rated dynamic/static load.
Life test: Simulate long-term operation and evaluate the wear rate.
Noise and vibration test: Ensure smooth operation (such as noise ≤50dB).
Ultrasonic cleaning: Remove processing residues and ensure the cleanliness of the guide rail.
Rust-proof packaging: Vacuum seal or apply anti-rust oil to avoid corrosion during transportation and storage.
Process stability: Strictly monitor grinding parameters (such as feed rate, grinding wheel grain size) and heat treatment temperature curve.
